Parent Visa – Temporary

SUBCLASS 173 – CONTRIBUTORY PARENT (TEMPORARY) VISA (ONSHORE OR OFFSHORE)

This provisional visa allows you to live in Australia for up to two years and has a pathway to 143 permanent visa. You must be a parent of an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident and meet the balance of family test.

SUBCLASS 884 – CONTRIBUTORY AGED PARENT (TEMPORARY) VISA (ONSHORE)

Parents must be 65 years old and have an eligible sponsor and satisfy the family of balance of test. Parents could stay in Australia legally after applying onshore.

SUBCLASS 870 – SPONSORED PARENT (TEMPORARY) VISA (OFFSHORE- FOR UP TO 3 OR 5 YEARS)

You don’t need to satisfy the balance of family test to get this visa, to get this visa you must pass the character test and health requirement, and sponsor must pass the income test.
